The Mamluk ruled from 1250 to 1517.They were not native Egyptians but were slave soldiers consisting mainly of Qipchak Turks. The Mamluke inspired carpets under reference have been produced in the North of Afghanistan ( a town called Bahamian) by the Hazara community mostly the woman weavers, on the request of Turkish dealer to revive the old Mamluke pattern by using less waged labor in this part of the world and also to avail their skill of double knot weaving. 100 % hand spun sheep wool with combination of vegetable and chemical dues has been used in it.
